World health day is a global campaign that is celebrated on the 7th of April every year and encourages everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The main aim to celebrate world health day is to draw the attention of people towards their health.   1. Eat slowly while enjoying: A very important rule of eating and staying healthy is to eat it slowly while enjoying it. By eating in a hurry, we eat a lot at once, due to which obesity increases. By chewing slowly, the stomach becomes full even in less food, due to which many problems remains away.

2. Increase protein intake: Protein is a treasure trove of nutrients and beneficial for our body in many ways. Consumption of protein-rich things also keeps the stomach full, one don’t feel hungry for a long time due to which both weight and obesity can be controlled. For vegetarians, soya, chickpea, paneer, sprouts are excellent options for protein.

3. Give priority to home-cooked food: Cooking at home allows you to add oil, salt and spices as needed, which are included in large quantities in outside food. Those are no doubt tasty but not at all right from the health point of view. There is no harm in eating them once or twice a month or under any compulsion, but avoid eating such food every day.

4. Keep yourself physically active: Along with eating well, it is also important to keep exercising. Exercise not only keeps the body healthy but also keeps the mood good. Problems like fatigue, anxiety, stress remains away. It is not always necessary that one should necessarily go to the gym for workouts, you can stay active by doing various activities at home, such as sweeping, gardening, playing with children, using stairs instead of lift. Walking should be a must: If a person is not capable of doing heavy workout, there is an alternative that everyone should adopt and involve to his/her routine to stay fit and active i.e. a minimum of 30 minutes walk daily. Walking daily reduces stress, keeps the weight under control and helps in controlling lot of health issues like diabetes, blood pressure , cholesterol etc. It also helps in improving one’s sleep by which the person could stay active for the rest of the day.

6. Stay Hydrated: Everyone should involve a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day to his/her routine. It helps in keeping the body hydrated and a hydrated body keeps many health related problems away, for eg. It helps in preventing the infections , it helps in purifying your blood , helps the body to function properly and one feel active throughout the day. It also helps in weight loss and keeping our heart healthy.

7. Get your sleep: A lack of sleep can leave you bizzare the next day. Not getting a good sleep can mess up with your mood. It is very important to take a minimum of 8 hours of sleep. It helps you to stay active the next day, helps in maintaining your weight , lowers your risk to serious health problems like heart disease and diabetes. It helps one to think clearly and also boost one’s immunity.

8. Eat less sugar: One should cut out excessive sugar intakes from the diet. It helps in reducing one’s odds of getting diabetes , it helps to get a good sleep , maintains the weight as one feel full with less food , keep the heart health in good condition and reduces inflammation from body.
