01/5 Reasons to exercise in the morning

It is said there is no right or wrong time to exercise. Whenever you have time, you should squeeze in a small workout session into your daily routine. That being said, if you want to reap maximum benefit from your workout session then you do need to be specific about the timing. Scientists suggest that working in the morning before breakfast is a far better option than exercising at any other time of the day. Along with increasing your fitness level, this practice is associated with some unique mental benefits as well. Here are some reasons to hit the pavement in the morning.

02/5 You may burn more fat

Fat burning is a primary fitness objective of most people and to maximise the calorie-burning process, start exercising in the morning. A 2015 study revealed that people who exercise before breakfast burned more fat as compared to those who did it other times of the day. The body burns fat faster in the fasted state as compared to any other time of the day. It is still unclear why this happens.

03/5 You will sleep better

Exercising and good quality sleep are also linked with each other. When you exercise in the evening, you tend to sleep better at night as your body gets enough time to cool down. When you exercise in the evening, your body stays in a hyperactive phase even when it is time to hit the hay, making it difficult to fall asleep. According to another study, those who run on the treadmill in the morning sleep peacefully at night.

04/5 You may become fitter

It has been proven that strength and endurance are the greatest in the morning which makes it easy for them to pull an intense cardio session. As the day goes by it is obvious to get tired and people might not be able to finish their workout. The heart rate spikes up faster in the morning as compared to any other time of the day.

05/5 You may feel more focused

Working out in the evening may increase alertness and help you stay focused throughout the day. A morning workout keeps you alert, by decreasing the level of cortisol in the body. You might be able to do work better if you exercise first thing in the morning.
