Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s troubles with Bollywood’s most awaited film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ are not being named. Mumbai’s Mazgaon court has sent notice to the film’s actress Alia Bhatt and film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the film’s writer. The court has asked these three to appear on May 21. All three have been ordered to appear by a Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Mumbai. The magistrate has sent this notice under the Criminal Defamation Case. Earlier, the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was also opposed in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Gangubai’s alleged adopted son filed suit

A man named Babu Raoji Shah has claimed that he is the adopted son of Gangubai. Babu Raoji Shah has filed a defamation case against Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the writer of the film. Babu Raoji has said in the petition that his family is getting a lot of disrepute because of this film. Babu Raoji has also termed Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ as wrong. He has said that the things written in the book are not true. Therefore, based on this book, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has produced the film. So many things are wrong in the film as well.

There was also a demand for stopping the promos and trailers of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

The name Babu Raoji Shah, who claimed to be the adopted son of Gangubai, had also gone to the sessions court before the trial. Babu Raoji Shah had sought a stay on the promo and trailer of the film from the sessions court. But his plea was rejected by the court. The court had said that Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ came out in 2011 and the cases are being done in 2020.

The court had admitted that Babu Raoji Shah’s family had a mental problem

Babu Raoji Shah lodged a complaint at Nagpada police station on 11 December 2020 to stop the promos and trailer of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. According to the TV report, the court had rejected the petition but the court had accepted that Babu Raoji Shah and his family had mental problems due to the promos of the book and the film. After the complaint, all the people were summoned at that time. But no one except one had answered it.
