Mahashiya Dharmapala Gulati, owner of Mahasia Di Hatti (MDH) spice company, has died at the age of 98. He breathed his last at 5.38 am this morning. Recently, Dharampal Gulati was infected with Corona virus. However, he won the battle with Corona. He is said to have died of a heart attack. Dharampal Gulati has been awarded the Padma Bhushan. Gulati was born on March 27, 1923 in Sialkot (Pakistan).

Expressing grief over the demise of Dharmapala Gulati, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh wrote, “I feel saddened by the death of one of India’s most respected businessmen, Mahasri Dharmapalji.” He made a mark despite starting from a small business. He was very active in social work and remained active till the last moment. I express my condolences to his family

Dharampal Gulati was conferred the Padma Bhushan by President Ram Nath Govind last year for his outstanding contribution to business and industry. When he came to India after partition, he had only Rs 1,500. Coming to India, he also ran a tanga to feed the family. He then opened a spice shop on Ajmal Khan Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi.

The spice business grew slowly and today they have 18 spice factories in India and Dubai. One special thing is that he also used to advertise his spices on his own. He was considered the oldest advertising star in the world Only 5th pass was Dharampal Gulati

Master Dharmapala Gulati of his region was only fifth pass. He did not feel like studying in his childhood, while his father Chunnilal wanted him to read a lot. But the father’s desire was not fulfilled and after 5th he left school, then started sitting in the shop with father. Dharampal Gulati’s father Chunni Lal engaged him to learn a job at a carpenter’s shop, but Dharampal did not mind and he did not learn that job. At this the father opened a spice shop for Dharmapala.
