Controversy Over Kejriwal's First Virtual School

Controversy over Kejriwal’s first virtual school, Open School Institute rejects the claim. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has rubbished the claim of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s first virtual school. NIOS told that country’s first virtual school was opened by the central government 2021 not by the Delhi government on August 31.

NIOS Refused Kejriwal’s Claim

NIOS said, “Reference to few media reports of opening the India’s first virtual school, it is informed that the country’s first virtual school has already launched by the Union Ministry of Education in august 2021. Earlier on Wednesday, CM Kejriwal had claimed to open the country’s first virtual school. He had said, “Today we are starting India’s first virtual school ‘Delhi Model Virtual School’ under the Delhi Board of School Education. He had said that students from any corner of the country can enroll in the Delhi Model Virtual School.

According to Kejriwal, in this school, students will also be made to prepare for competitive exams like IIT JEE and NEET. At the same time, NIOS said that for the virtual school of NIOS, more than seven thousand study centers affiliated to NIOS are providing academic support and 1500 study centers for skill based vocational courses. These study centers will also start live interactive classes. NIOS informed that in the first session of the virtual school in the year 2021, students have uploaded 2.15 lakh assignments. In completed academic session, 4.46 lakh entries have been uploaded. It is expected that this number can reach 10 lakhs.
