MI vs SRH

In a continuation of a bad spell which has carried on since the start IPL 2018, Mumbai Indians lost their fifth of the six matches they have played so far, on Tuesday.

Match No.23 of IPL 2018 which was played at Wankhede Stadium saw the Sunrisers who were defending were defending the lowest total this season, which pushed them to the 3rd spot and their trashing of Mumbai Indians pushed them back to the 7th spot in the IPL ranking this season.MI vs SRH

SRH lost the toss and were put to bat first and set the season’s lowest target of 119 runs in their 20 overs, but still, in their erratic run chase, Mumbai Indians lost the plot surrendering the SRH bowlers and collapsing for just 87 all out.

This was a maiden victory for SRH at Wankhede Stadium as MI lost 3 wickets in quick succession to collapse totally going further on. Captain Rohit Sharma also failed to make a mark as the MI team fell like a pack of cards.

3 Wickets were shared by SRH bowlers Shakib Al Hasan and Rashid Khan, both of whom pitched in pivotal deliveries and restricted the MI to less than 90 runs. Moreover, Siddharth Kaul got 3 wickets and was instrumental for the SRH victory

The only graceful contributor to the MI team was Suryakumar Yadav who scored 34 before he fell in the 15th over and thus half the team was back in the pavilion.

Mitchell McClenaghan and Mayank Markande followed suit and were back in the pavilion in the very same over.

Mumbai was under serious pressure as things started swaying the Sunrisers way. They pinned their hopes on Hardik Pandya, but he couldn’t do much and was back in the pavilion in the 18th over.
