SRH vs DD

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets in the 36th match of the Vivo Indian Premier League and thus moved to the top spot of the VIVO IPL points table.

The match took place in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first.SRH vs DD

The match was very important for Delhi Daredevils as they are placed 7th in the IPL points table and if they lost they would virtually be out of the IPL this year

Maxwell who opened the innings departed soon. Prithvi Shaw started accelerating the scorecard in his usual fashion and gave a great start to the Daredevils. Skipper Shreyas Iyer joined the party giving DD a good start despite Maxwells departure. The Daredevils were going well but the breakthrough for the SRH came in the 11th over which was bowled by Rashid Khan and Shaw who scored a quick-fire fifty was back to the pavilion.

This stalled the runrate a little and SRH made a big mistake when Iyer was dropped by Saha and went on to make 44 runs.

Rashid struck again and took the crucial wicket of Pant.

The Daredevils could have created a big total but the SRH bowlers kept the runrate under control and Delhi managed only 164 runs in their 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad started cautiously and kept a low profile in the first few overs.DD were on the verge of a breakthrough when Maxwell dropped a simple catch and thus DD could not reap the benefits of the bowlers efforts

Avesh khan went expensive and conceded 27 in one over which lead the runrate to shoot up to 10 per over.

Delhi got their first breakthrough when Hales was trapped in Mishra’s web. The Delhi bowlers kept a vigil on the batsmen and kept the runrate down.

Mishra struck 2 times and ended Dhawan’s innings. SHR were only able to manage singles and doubles as the boundaries dried up. Thus the run rate came down to 7 per over.

Williamson went for the big ones but was soon halted. Finally Yususf Pathan entered the scene and did the needful taking SRH to an easy victory
