PHYSIOTHERAPY COURSE IN INDIA: FEES, ELIGIBILITY AND SYLLABUS

Physiotherapy course after Senior Secondary:-

BPT:- Bachelor of Physical therapy. The duration of this course is four years. The cost estimate for the same is between 1,00,000 to 5,00,000. The time required is four years.

B.Sc in Physiotherapy:- This is also an undergraduate degree. The average estimate for this is between 1,00,000 to 5,00,000. The time required is three years.

Eligibility Criteria for obtaining graduation degree in Physiotherapy:-

To secure a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy, you would have to pass your senior secondary with an aggregate of 50% with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the compulsory subjects. Along with this, you would also have to pass an entrance exam for getting admission to BPT programmes. However, for B.Sc physiotherapy there is no entrance exam.

Postgraduate courses in Physiotherapy:-

MPT:- This postgraduate course is for two years. There are different specialties to choose, which are as follows;

Orthopedics, Sports, Neurology, cardiopulmonary, gynae & obs, paediatrics, CBR. The estimated cost of the same is between two lakhs to five lakhs.

M.Sc in Physiotherapy:- The time taken to complete this postgraduate course is of two years. The average cost of the same is between 35,000 to 2.5 lakhs.

Master of Physiotherapy:-

The time taken for this course is two years. And the cost is between 30,000 to 5 lakhs.

PhD in Physiotherapy:-

The time taken for a doctorate is 3-6 years. The cost is between 5 lakh INR to 25 lakh.

Eligibility Criteria for obtaining post-graduation degree in Physiotherapy:-

For MPT, you would have to clear BPT with 50% marks followed by an entrance exam of MPT. The list of entrance exams includes JIPMER, NEET etc.  To be eligible for the MPT courses, you would have to complete at least 6 months of internship.

For M.Sc in physiotherapy, you would have to clear the M.Sc entrance exams of the respective university.

For PhD in physiotherapy, you will have to secure top-notch marks in your post-graduation and clear entrance exam and interviews as per UGC guidelines.
