At least 25 people, including 12 subway passengers, were killed in the flood so far in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China’s Henan province, China’s central Henan province witnesses it is the heaviest rainfall in 1,000 years.

According to state-run media, 1.2 million people get affected by this downpour. Zhengzhou city sits on the banks of the Yellow River, which is the second-longest river in China, it’s another significant reason why it’s difficult to handle floods in the province. local government officials said, Around 200k residents were evacuated in Zhengzhou.

The highest-level emergency alert notice has been issued across the city. Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded that authorities deploy the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to rescue those stuck in inundated subways, hotels, and public places.
