Farmers again on strike in Lakhimpur Kheri

Farmers again on strike in Lakhimpur Kheri, demand for dismissal of Union Minister Teni The demand for justice is rising again in the October 2021 farmer murder case of Lakhimpur Kheri. The city’s Mandi Committee, along with the families of four farmers and a journalist who were killed by the United Kisan Morcha, had called for a three-day dharna.

After this, from Thursday morning, the batches of farmers started reaching the market committee and the demonstration started under the leadership of United Kisan Morcha. No formal permission has been given by the Lakhimpur district administration for this dharna. But this dharna, being led by Rakesh Tikait and other influential leaders, was given a place in the city market committee and heavy police force was deployed.

Farmer’s strike in Lakhimpur Kheri

Demand for the dismissal of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra again arose. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that return of electricity amendment bill, MSP guarantee law, return of farmers’ case, these are our main demands.  The cases of the four farmers who have been arrested for the murder of BJP workers should also be withdrawn.” In this case, the prosecution has filed a charge sheet against all the farmers. Tikait accused the administration that, “The administration is not cooperating with us. There is neither water system nor toilet system. They have to give water, otherwise we know how to take it.” So in what time the United Kisan Morcha wants the sacking of minister Ajay Mishra and action against him? Regarding this, Rakesh Tikait says, “We do not have a timeline in our hands. It is in the hands of the government. Our job is to raise our voice, to demonstrate.” So what will happen after this three-day performance?

Rakesh Tikait says that, “After three days, he will go home. He will take his anger from here. If he goes to a meeting somewhere in other states, Ajay Mishra Teni’s name will always come up until he is dismissed.” Alleging the involvement of Minister Ajay Mishra Teni in the farmers’ murder, Rakesh Tikait says, “It is well known that he made the statement. According to us, he is the culprit of 120 B (conspiracy).”
