Bhubaneswar Goods Train Derail

Five wagons of goods train derailed near Bhubaneswar railway station, passengers sleeping at the station due to many trains being affected There has been a train accident near Bhubaneswar railway station on Monday night. Train movement on the route has been partially affected after five coaches of a Vizianagaram-bound goods train derailed.

According to sources, the accident took place at around 8.35 pm, when the train was on its way from Chakradharpur division to Vizianagaram via Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Sources said that some trains are likely to be partially affected due to derailment at Bhubaneswar station yard. Affected trains and their current status Hirakhand Express stuck at signal. Rajdhani Express was stopped at Mancheshwar. Jan Shatabdi was stuck before Bhubaneshwar. Junagadh Road Express is currently halted outside the station. Puri-Durg, Tapaswini, Puri-Gandhidham and Puri-Howrah have been stopped while going towards Bhubaneswar station.

Effects of the Train Accident

By 8 am the situation will be normal. Khurda Road DRM Rinkesh Rai said that around 8:30 pm, five coaches of a goods train derailed at Bhubaneswar. One coach is yet to derail and traffic will be back to normal by 8 am. “Traffic is affected on the Bhubaneswar-Kolkata road,” he said. Howrah-Chennai road is fine. local passenger trains will be canceled Some of the local passenger trains will be canceled & all trains will run normally till 8 am. Various trains between Kolkata and Chennai are affected due to this train accident. Passengers are waiting at the station and they are unable to return to their homes or destination.
