Ramesh Pawar becomes the coach of the Indian women's cricket team

Former India cricketer Ramesh Pawar has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. The BCCI announced this and the board received 35 applications for this post. The three members of the Cricket Advisory Committee, Sulakshana Nayak, Madan Lal and Rudra Pratap Singh interviewed all the applicants who applied and finally stamped the name of Ramesh Pawar. Ramesh Pawar, about 43 years old, has represented Team India and has coaching experience. Before them, Team India was coached by coach VV Raman. 

Ramesh Pawar has been primarily identified as a bowler and used to bowl right arm offbreak. He represented Team India from 2004 to 2007 and during this time he played 2 Test matches and 31 ODIs for India. In two Tests, he took 6 wickets while in 31 ODIs he has a total of 34 wickets in his name. 3 wickets for 33 runs in Tests and 3 wickets for 24 runs in ODIs has been his best performance.

Ramesh Pawar’s first class career was a great one and he took a total of 470 wickets in 148 matches while his best performance here is 7 wickets for 44 runs. At the same time, he took a total of 142 wickets in 113 matches of List A cricket. Apart from this, he took a total of 14 wickets in 28 T20 matches. Ramesh Powar earned the degree required to become a coach after his international cricket career. 

She had previously coached the Indian women’s cricket team in the year 2018 from July to November. Under her coaching, the Indian women’s team made it to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup in 2018. At the same time, this team also won 14 T20 matches in a row. In his recent coaching, the Mumbai cricket team won the Vijay Hazare Trophy title this year as well as he served as the bowling coach at NCA.
