qualifier 2

Dinesh Karthik is an excellent cricketer and has made numerous comebacks in the Indian team since he played his first match for India in 2004 September. Now he is leading Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time and has infused his never say die spirit in the team as well

The KKR journey has been a zig zag affair and they have had their up’s and down’s in IPL 2018, but they have stood the test of time and showed their class as they head towards the qualifier of the tournament.

After the washout by Mumbai Indians where they lost by a mammoth margin of 102 runs, KKR came back with a bang as they won the next 4 matches easily and comprehensively.

The Knight Riders just need two more victories to life the coveted trophy for the 3rd time. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier to be played in the Eden gardens on Friday The winner will move on and face Chennai Super Kings in the final in Mumbai.

One must remember the dream run KKR had when they won 8 consecutive matches and become the champions in 2014. Thus this task should be a cake walk for the KKR team.

SRH have won 9 out of their first 11 games in the league’s stage but have also suffered defeat in their last 4 games which includes a Qualifier against CSK. While KKR defeated SRH in the eliminator.

The strength of the SRH team is their bowlers who have consistently restricted the opposing teams to low totals and came close to winning the match for SRH against CSK defending a low total of 139.

SRH knows that just like them the batting of KKR also hoes deep and the job of defeating them will not be easy.

All will be clear by Friday when the two teams meet head on head for the qualifier 2. Only time will tell who beats whom and who beats the dust.
