Skipper Kohli decided to keep 2 leg spinners in his side for their match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. RCB were desperate and needed this win to go to the second round of this year’s IPL.KKR VS RCB

Obviously having two leg spinners and no other support can prove to be expensive.

Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj proved to be expensive and allowed Kolkata Knight Riders to win by 6 wickets with almost an over to spare.

Virat Kohli had led the RCB to a challenging 175/4 with his fantastical stroke play as he always does. Virat surely is top class and he is a world class batsman.

Kohli didn’t find any support from the other RCB batsmen and played a blinder, playing shots which made one breathless.

Openers Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock made a decent contribution putting 67 on board in 8 overs. After that it was only Kohli who scored and took RCB to a respectable total.

Kohli played intelligently keeping the strike for himself and dint let Mandeep singh get to the strikers end as he was not in form.

Skipper Kohli and Mandeep scores 36 and 12 in their 50 runs stand. Kohli entertained the crowd as he hit straight sixes off Narine and Russell and topping it off with a pull shot that went for a six off Johnson and took his team to 175/4.

Kolkata batted sensibly and RCB bowlers couldn’t do much and demonstrated poor bowling and that led to RCB’s loss.

Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine put a partnership of almost 60 runs for the first wicket and Ashwin provided two breakthroughs but it was not enough.

Lynn excelled as he scored his 22nd T20 half century and Narine and Robin uthappa played aggressively to take the game away from RCB.

Lynn was declared the man of the match for his splendid batting performance where he scored 62 off 52 deliveries with 7 fours and a single six.
