On the strength of Purple Patel i.e. Harshal Patel and Chahal’s bowling, Mumbai’s team was bundled out for 111 runs in 18.1 overs while chasing the target. Glenn Maxwell also took two wickets for RCB, who also did wonders in batting, scoring 56 runs in 37 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Apart from him, captain Virat Kohli also scored a half-century and played an innings of 51 runs in 42 balls, which included three fours and three sixes.

This is the sixth defeat of the current IPL champions Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021. Mumbai’s team has so far won only 4 matches in 10 matches and is currently at 7th position in the points table. You will be surprised to know that for the first time RCB team has allied out the Mumbai team in an IPL match. Apart from this, Bangalore has done wonders of defeating the Mumbai team twice in a single season. Never before had RCB beat Mumbai twice in a season.

On the other hand, Harshal Patel became the 17th bowler to take a hat-trick in IPL. At the same time, he is the first bowler of this IPL season, who has taken a hat-trick. However, this is the overall 20th hat-trick in IPL. Amit Mishra has taken a hat-trick in IPL thrice and Yuvraj Singh twice, while the remaining 15 bowlers have taken a hat-trick in IPL once each. For RCB, before Harshal Patel, 3 bowlers have taken hat-tricks in IPL. They include the names of Praveen Kumar (vs Rajasthan, 2010) and Samuel Badree (vs Mumbai, 2017).
