Please tell that schools in Delhi have been closed for a long time. A few days ago, students of class 10th, 11th, and 12th were allowed to come to school for admission-related work, counseling, guidance, and practical work related to board examinations. On the demand for reopening of schools on the lines of other states, the Lieutenant Governor, in a meeting of the DDMA on August 6, had directed the officials to constitute an expert committee to prepare a detailed plan for the reopening of schools in Delhi.

Significantly, amidst the decreasing cases of Covid-19, the Expert Committee of the Delhi Government in its report had already recommended the phased reopening of all schools in Delhi. The committee, in its recommendations, had first asked the government to open schools from class 9 to class 12, on which it has been started. After this, middle schools and then finally primary schools have been asked to be opened. DDMA has taken a decision on this.
