BJP

This is the same Naxalbari area from where extremist leftist leaders started the armed movement in 1967 and attracted workers, landless, Dalits, tribals and the exploited from many states. Should BJP’s victory in Naxalbari be seen as a victory in any other assembly constituency in West Bengal?

Abhijit Majumdar, son of Charu Mazumdar, the father of the Naxalbari movement, says that if we look broadly, it seems that if the BJP is winning all over the country, then it can win in Naxalbari too.

But Abhijeet sees this victory ahead of a normal victory. He says, “This victory shows that the hold of the Left has become very weak among the Scheduled Castes and Tribes and the BJP has established its feet.”
