Australia vs India (Brisbane) Fourth Test Fourth Day

Australia 369: (Labuschen 108, Penn 50) first innings

India 336 (Shardul Thakur 67, Washington Sundar 62; Hazelwood 5-57) first innings

Australia got a lead of 54 runs in the first innings

India returned exceptionally on the third day of the Brisbane Test match. With this return of India, the victory for Australia in the fourth Test has now become a crook.

Australia v/s India Australia had scored 369 runs in the first innings and in reply, India fell six wickets for 186 runs. India looked badly behind in the first innings. But the undeclared pair of Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar added an excellent 123 runs.

Hardly anyone would have expected such a brilliant innings on the seventh wicket. Thakur scored 67 runs and Sundar scored 62 runs. India’s score reached 336 due to Sundar and Thakur.

Australia got a lead of just 54 runs. On the third day, Australia started the second innings with the same lead and without losing any wickets, David Warner and Marcus Harris are playing for 21 runs.

For India, this series of four Test matches with Australia was quite thrilling. Team India was devastated in the entire series due to the injury of its important players. But whatever players came in exchange for the injured players, they did not disappoint.

Now it seems that the opportunity to keep the Border-Gavaskar trophy with India has not been lost.

To retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India only have to draw the Brisbane Test match while Australia will have to win 2–1. It is estimated that the rain may disrupt the match on the last two days.

India did not give weapons

The whole series was very exciting. Everything was seen in the series. The ups and downs in both the teams were not reduced in any way. But on Sunday, when India’s middle order Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant failed, it was felt that Australia will get a decisive lead.

India’s playing XI has a long list of inexperienced players. For the first time since 21-year-old Sundar 2017, he is playing first class matches at number seven and Shardul Thakur averages 16.00 in the first class.

Sundar is primarily known for his off spin. He was in Australia as a net bowler but the injury of Indian players increased so much that he got a chance to play.

There is a long list of players who are out of the playing eleven of the Indian team due to injury and not fit.

Among them, only captain Virat Kohli is the one who was going to be a father and he decided to take leave on this occasion. Apart from this, the remaining key players are injured. KL Rahul has a sprain in his wrist, Hanuma Vihari suffers from a problem in the vein behind the knee.

Ravichandran Ashwin is suffering from back pain, while Ravindra Jadeja has suffered a thumb injury. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has problems with Thai, Umesh Yadav is troubled by the pain of the calf, while Mohammed Shami has difficulty in his arms. Navdeep Saini was also injured during the fourth test and Bumrah is suffering from a stomach strain. Even Ishant Sharma has not been able to fit yet.

In this condition, the novice duo of Shardul Thakur and Washiganton Sundar have strengthened India in a crucial match.

Thakur even hit two sixes. When Washington Sundar was on a score of 45, Australia captain and wicket keeper Tim Paine gave up his catch. Sundar also hit a six in his 62-run innings.

India’s ups and downs

In the first Test played in Adelaide, all the players of India were dismissed for 36 runs. The team was then led by star batsman Virat Kohli. India had an embarrassing defeat in this Test match.

In the second Test match, India made a great comeback and defeated Australia by eight wickets. Ajinkya Rahane had the captaincy in this. Australia again took control of the match in the third Test but due to India’s excellent game, the match was drawn.
