Rakhi Sawant was born on 25 November 1978 and her original name is Neeru Bheda. She is the daughter of Jaya Bheda who later married a police constable Anand Sawant.

Still, to pursue an acting career, Rakhi started approaching several Film directors and producers. She showed her dance talent to many directors but faced rejection several times. She felt a need to enhance her beauty and looks and thus chose to undergo cosmetic surgery.

With the name Ruhi Sawant, rakhi made her first successful debut in Bollywood Film Agnichakra. After that, she performed some small rules in TV shows and item numbers in Joru Ka Gulam, Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, and Jis Desh Me Ganga Rehta Hai.

She became popular with her item number Bam Bhole Bam Bjole in the Bollywood film Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke.
